For the past 2 weeks, been dropping like log few hours after dinner (not even enough time to get my food properly digested and waking up some 4 hours later and not daring to go back to dreamland). So, here I am only updating on my week 2 of my internship progress. Well, basically everything is more or less the same like the first week, except this time I get my hands on some mechanical related work. Positive contribution to the company I would say if u define learning to disassemble, clean and replace, reassemble just a single type of component as one.
Most of the time, everybody on the assembly floor is occupied with something. It took several technicians (in turns) and demos later to get the lesson through. From beginning to the end, it took me about 3 hours per component but I enjoy having something to fill up my day. For what it's worth, it is quite a learning experience. Too bad I can't be doing maintenance all day long, it would simply implies the component kept breaking down and no maintenance is not an option. That wouldn't be very productive for the assembly line at all.
On with the story, the remainder of the week I am stucked with menial duty, important but menial nonetheless in my dictionary. At least, that's what completing an inventory spare parts list is to me. Initially, I need to figure out the sequence in which I would place the parts (different sizes and manufacturers and all) in miniature drawers 5 in a row and label them accordingly. Lastly, totaling each respective amount and jot down their actual model specification by referring to their manufacturers' reference book.
Just like that, an entire week was over. In the future, I'll try and blog on a more daily basis especially on some interesting events happening. Well, that's for week 4 and onwards so let me hurry over and complete week 3.
